    SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA – Former Mustang Derek Stockalper (2004-07) was named Swiss Domestic Player of the Year while Varnie Dennis (2000-04) helped lead Vigo (Spain) to a title in the second division. Stockalper playing for the Lugano Tigers in Switzerland, averaged 18.5 points and 6.2 rebounds while hitting 57 percent from the floor and 38 percent long range.   • Dylan Royer Commits to Cal Poly

    SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA – Cal Poly men’s basketball head coach Kevin Bromley announced today that Morro Bay senior Dylan Royer has been accepted to Cal Poly as a incoming freshman and has verbally committed to play basketball for the Mustangs as an invited walk-on for the 2008-09 season.   • Record-Breaking Day at Big West Championships

    NORTHRIDGE, Calif. — Sharon Day won the Big West heptathlon title in record-breaking fashion Saturday afternoon at Cal State Northridge, setting new school and conference marks en route to her third career individual title at the Big West meet. The senior from Costa Mesa, Calif. tallied 5,642 points, shattering the previous Cal Poly record of 5,412 set by Sharon Hanson in 1987.
