SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- Junior men's tennis standout Andre Dome, who was a perfect 4-0 in a pair of Big West Conference matches last week, has been selected as the Coca-Cola/Cal Poly Student-Athlete of the Week.

In a 5-2 win over UC Irvine on Friday in Irvine, Dome and Matt Fawcett, ranked 34th in the nation, picked up the Mustangs' lone win in doubles with a dominating 8-2 win over Sam Gould and Jacob Jung.

In singles play, Dome quickly evened the match with a straight-set, 6-0, 6-4, win over Fabian Matthews on the first court. Dome entered the match ranked 34th while Matthews was ranked 92nd.

The next day against UC Riverside, another 5-2 Mustang victory, Andre Dome and Sebastian Bell blanked Simon Peters and Jimmy Roberts, 8-0, in doubles. Dome was a 6-4, 6-4 winner over Felix Macherez in his singles match.

Dome, a 2008 graduate of Arroyo Grande High School, is 20-7 in singles (14-4 in duals) and 13-4 in doubles this season. He has won the Coca-Cola/Cal Poly Student-Athlete of the Week award three times during the 2011-12 academic year.

Cal Poly's pair of conference victories improved its season record to 13-7 and conference mark to a spotless 5-0, clinching the Mustangs' third Big West Conference regular season championship outright in Nick Carless' first season at the helm.

The Big West Conference Men's Tennis Championship in Indian Wells runs Friday through Sunday. As the No. 1 seed, Cal Poly received a first-round bye and, on Saturday at 11 a.m., will face the winner of Friday's match between No. 4 Pacific and No. 5 UC Davis.

The championship match is set for Sunday at 9 a.m.
