After sitting out two full seasons due to Tommy John surgery, Reed is slated to be Cal Poly’s top left-handed reliever out of the bullpen in 2010.

2009: Missed the entire season ... did not play summer ball.

2008: Missed the entire season following Tommy John surgery on left elbow.

2007: Appeared in 22 games as a true freshman with one start -- the Big West opener at Pacific ... gave up three hits and two runs in 1.2 innings, but Mustangs rallied for 13-8 win ... compiled 0-1 record, 7.90 ERA and one save ... earned save against Cal State Northridge on April 7, pitching two scoreless innings ... in first collegiate game, pitched 1.2 innings at San Diego on Jan. 26 and gave up a home run, the only round-tripper he surrendered all season ... in longest stint of the season, pitched 4.2 scoreless innings against eventual national champion Oregon State on March 24, striking out a career-high four Beavers ... did not play summer ball.

Prep: A two-year varsity letter winner in baseball under head coach Matt La Belle at Simi Valley High ... hit .313 as a senior with six RBIs ... on the mound went 0-2 with a 1.81 ERA as Pioneers posted 16-11 record ... broke school records for most saves in a season (seven in both 2005 and 2006) and career (14), most appearances (21 in 2005) and best inning-to-walk ratio in a season (0.16 in 2005) and career (0.19) ... named to Ventura County Baseball Coaches Assn. Large Schools Team ... scholar-athlete ... also visited UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine and UC Riverside.

Personal: Son of Frank and Mary Reed ... one brother, Jake, and two sisters, Brittney and Brandi ... aspires to play professional baseball ... born February 12, 1988, in Simi Valley, Calif. ... majored in architecture but has switched to construction management.
