SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- A second half goal, late in the game, by Bianca Burright carried the Cal Poly women’s soccer team to a 1-0 win over the Air Force Academy on Friday in Colorado Springs. With the win Cal Poly improves to 3-4-0 while Air Force falls to 1-6-1 for the season.

Burright scored her first goal of the season in the 73rd minute of play when she hit a shot from 15 yards out to the right corner of the net beating Air Force goalie Ariana Green.

Cal Poly goalie Coral Hoover picked up her third win of the season and her first shutout when she recorded eight saves in the game. Overall Air Force fired 20 shots, 10 on goal with the team credited with two saves.

Hoover made several big-time stops in the game, coming off line on four separate occasions for saves as well as making several diving stops.

Air Force had 10 shots in each half while Cal Poly had eight shots in the first half and five in the second.

The Mustangs managed seven corner kicks compared to the Falcons three. Each team was whistled for seven fouls.

The Mustangs continue their road trip on Sunday when they play Colorado College.
