Senior Coral Hoover Wins Big West Honors
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Cal Poly senior goalie Coral Hoover was named the Big West Athlete of the Week when she recorded two shutouts this past weekend. Hoover, from Corralitos, CA, recorded back-to-back shutouts on the road over Air Force and Colorado College. Against Air Force, Hoover faced 20 shots, recording eight saves. SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Cal Poly senior goalie Coral Hoover was named the Big West Athlete of the Week when she recorded two shutouts this past weekend.
Hoover, from Corralitos, CA, recorded back-to-back shutouts on the road over Air Force and Colorado College.
Against Air Force, Hoover faced 20 shots, recording eight saves. In the game against Colorado College Hoover tallied seven saves while facing 21 shots.
With the two shutouts Hoover has dropped her Goals Against Average to 0.80 and improved her save percentage to 91.1.
With the two wins the Mustangs evened their record at 4-4-0 while Hoover has been in goal in all four wins.
The Mustangs return to action on Friday when they travel to California to face the Bears in a non-conference game. Cal enters the game with the Mustangs as the No. 9/7 team in the nation and post a 6-1-0 record.
