Cal Poly Football Coaches Clinic to be Held Saturday
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- Annual Cal Poly Football Coaches Clinic, featuring numerous high school and college coaches as guest speakers, will be held Saturday on campus.
The clinic kicks off at 8:30 a.m. and the list of guest speakers includes former Cal Poly head coach Lyle Setencich, who also was defensive coordinator at Cal, Arizona State and Texas Tech.
Also on the list of speakers are Chris Strausser, associate head coach and offensive line coach at Boise State, and Lenny Wagner, head coach at Santa Rosa Junior College.
Chad Henry, a quarterback at Cal Poly from 1994-98 and currently head coach at Mission Prep in San Luis Obispo, guiding the Royals to the CIF-Southern Section Northeast Division championship game last fall, also will speak along with several members of Cal Poly's current coaching staff.
Sign-ups begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Hall adjacent to the Performing Arts Center at Cal Poly and the clinic will move to the Mott Athletics Center before heading out to the upper field of the Cal Poly Sports Complex, where Cal Poly will hold a football practice, including a brief scrimmage, starting at 3:40 p.m.
Costs of the clinic are $25 per person or $50 per coaching staff (up to seven).

In addition to the clinic Saturday, members of the Cal Poly football team also will be busy with several off-campus events, including the Walk for Autism on Sunday at Mission Plaza in downtown San Luis Obispo, the San Luis Obispo County Special Olympics on May 3 at Cuesta College and the Cinco de Mayo Festival at Pacheco Elementary School on Sunday, May 5.
