Doubles Team Falls in Semifinal of So. California Intercollegiate
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Cal Poly doubles team of Devin Barber and Corey Pang were eliminated in the semifinal round of the 57th Annual Southern California Intercollegiate Championships at the Los Angeles Tennis Center on Saturday.
Barber and Pang lost, 8-4, to the doubles team from UCLA, Joe DiGiulio and Ryoto Tachi.
Barber and Pang advanced to the round when they defeated Ganesh Alagappan and Horea Poritiu of UC San Diego, 8-7, in the round of 16 and Michael Guzman and Seth Stolar of UCLA, 8-3 in the quarterfinal round.
The duo earned their way into the main draw of the tournament on Thursday in a qualifying round when they defeated Charles Cope and Severin Diemand of Concordia, 8-4.
