Mustangs Men’s Tennis Wins Three Brackets at UCSB Classic

SANTA BARBARA— The Cal Poly men's tennis team won three different brackets at the team's first fall tournament of this season this past weekend at the UCSB Classic.

Freshman Alex Stater won the Flight "D" Singles bracket. He beat players from Loyola Marymount, fellow Mustang freshman Andrew Whitehouse, and UCSB.

Seniors Axel Damiens and Karl Enander paired to win the Flight "B" Doubles bracket. They beat teams from Washington, Cal, and UCSB on their way to winning that bracket's championship.

Junior Josh Ortlip and sophomore Antoine Noel won the Flight "C" Doubles bracket by beating Pacific, St. Mary's, and UCSB. Also in that bracket, Alex Stater and Andrew Whitehouse won the consolation championship to finish third.

The team will continue its fall tournament schedule October 19 at the ITA Regional Championships at Pepperdine's campus in Malibu. The tournament will run through Monday, October 23.
