Mustangs Open Final Home Series by Falling Twice to Long Beach State May 2, 2015 Sophomore righthander Sierra Hyland (right) struck out four Long Beach State hitters and allowed just four hits in a complete-game effort, but a two-run homer from 49ers second baseman LT Torres stood as the difference as the Mustangs – in a nationally-televised, ESPNU matchup from Bob Janssen Field – dropped game No. 1 of a Saturday doubleheader, 2-1. Despite a two-run homer from Hyland in game No. 2, Cal Poly also dropped the back end of its doubleheader in nine innings, 7-4.
Saturday ESPNU Matchup Highlights May 2-3 Long Beach State Series April 28, 2015 The Cal Poly softball program closes its 16-game home schedule, plays the first nationally televised game in program history and looks to snap a season-long, four-game slide when hosting Long Beach State for a May 2-3 series at Bob Janssen Field. The series opens with a 12 noon doubleheader on Saturday, May 2 with game No. 1 televised live on ESPNU in the first broadcasted contest during the 15-year history of Janssen Field.
Mustangs Hit Three Homers, but Drop Doubleheader at Cal State Fullerton April 26, 2015 Freshman shortstop Chelsea Convissar belted her first home run of Sunday afternoon in game No. 1 of a doubleheader versus Cal State Fullerton, but the Cal Poly softball program fell in the opener, 4-1. Convissar, along with freshman center fielder Amanda Sandoval, added seventh-inning homers in game No. 2, but Cal Poly also dropped the ESPN3-broadcasted, series-closing matchup, 6-3.
