Cal Poly Women's Tennis Falls to Nevada 4-3

RENO, Nev. – The Cal Poly women's tennis team put up a fight against University of Nevada Friday afternoon, pushing the Wolf Pack to the last point, but couldn't hold on, falling 4-3. 

The Mustangs started the match off in doubles play, where Seriana Saltzen and Molly Reed took on Blaga Delic and Sheila Morales on court one and fell 6-1. 

Louise Oxnevad and Celine Gruaz picked up a win on court three against Carlijn Ketting and Milena Achlamov after beating them 6-4,  leaving it up to court two to clinch the doubles point. 

Susanne Boyden and Abby Bacharach put up a fight against Adriana Gergelyova and Claudia Herrero but fell 7-5, giving Nevada the doubles point.

Following doubles play, the Mustangs started singles play where Oxnevad fell to Morales 6-1, 6-2 on court two. 

Gruaz tied the score back up for the Mustangs after she beat Sara Korzeniecki 6-2, 6-3 on court six. 

Reed fell to Delic on court four 6-4, 6-1, while Bacharach pushed Ketting to three sets but fell short on court five 6-1, 2-6, 6-3, clinching the match for the Mustangs. 

Saltzen and Boyden finished the match off on a strong note, as Saltzen beat Gergelyova in a three set match on court three 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. 

Boyden picked up her seventh win of the season after she beat Herrero at the No. 1 spot 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, giving her a 7-1 record in singles dual play. 

The Mustangs will pick back up play against Gonzaga on Saturday March 18 in Reno, Nev.
