Conover Named USTFCCA West Region Coach of the Year

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The USTFCCCA announced today that Cal Poly head coach Mark Conover was named the men's West Region Cross Country Coach of the Year.

For the 15th year head coach it marks the third time he has won the honor.

Cal Poly placed third in the NCAA West Region this past week with two runners placing in the race's top 20, improving from a 12th-place finish a year ago.

Overall Cal Poly placed its five scoring runners in the top 35 and had all seven runners place in the top 47.

The Mustangs also won the Big West title this fall for the 11th time in 14 seasons for Conover in his 15th year with the squad.

Cal Poly will be competing at the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, IN on Monday, Nov. 21st.

For Conover it will be the seventh time he has taken a team to the NCAA Championship and the 13th time Cal Poly has been represented by a team or individual in the meet.
