Matching Gifts
Matching gift programs are a powerful way to maximize the impact
of your investment in Cal Poly and our renowned learn-by-doing
programs.
Through matching gift programs offered by more than 13,000
employers, you can double or triple the value of your gift at
no cost to you. In addition to matching charitable donations
of their employees, some companies will also match donations made
by spouses, retirees, and even members of their corporate board of
directors
Business Sponsorships
Great opportunities in branding, exposure and entertainment with
the best show on the Central Coast. Signage, consumer
promotions,game sponsorships and game day hospitality are just a
few of the options.
Planned Giving
Cal Poly's Office of Planned Giving and Endowments assists
prospective donors and their advisers to select the most
appropriate tax-wise giving vehicle. Planned gifts and life
income plans allow friends of Cal Poly Athletics to leave a
legacy for generations of future students, while also meeting
personal financial obligations.
Gift of Stock and Securities
As you consider tax wise ways of giving to Cal Poly Athletics, you
may want to analyze the benefits of giving appreciated
securities. Long-term appreciated stock are particularly
beneficial to give because you receive a charitable deduction for
the full fair market value of the gift and, in addition, you avoid
paying capital gains tax on the appreciation. A charitable
income tax deduction is allowed for up to 30 percent of your
adjusted gross income in the year of the gift. Any unused
portion can be carried forward for up to an additional five
years.

Real estate gifts to Cal Poly Athletics can be structured in
many different ways. Either through Outright Gifts,
Charitable Remainder Trusts or Retained Life Estates.
