SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — After scoring a game-high 25 points to lead the Mustang women’s basketball team to a 59-57 win over CSU Bakersfield on Dec. 29, Dynn Leaupepe has been named the Coca-Cola Cal Poly Student-Athlete of the Week.
The senior guard went a career-best 4-for-5 from 3-point range while helping the Mustangs finish non-conference play with the victory in Mott Athletics Center.
Leaupepe is the sixth-leading scorer in school history, now with 1,224 points, as well as No. 13 in rebounding (495). Currently third in the conference with an average of 15.7 points per game, Leaupepe also ranks 13th nationally among all active Division I players in career free-throw percentage, at .820.
Cal Poly (6-6) opens Big West play at UC Riverside at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, before visiting UC Santa Barbara for a 2 p.m. tipoff Saturday, Jan. 6.
