Bobby Beathard is well known to sports fans throughout the
country. His athletic career started as a Mustang quarterback,
leading the team to 25 wins in 30 games. his career passing total
of 1,748 yards ranks him eighth in the Cal Poly record book, and he
earned a pass completion average of 47% with 12 touchdowns.
Bobby has had an illustrious career in professional sports.
First he was a scout for the Kansas City Chiefs in the 1960s when
the team went to the first Super Bowl. Later he helped build the
Miami Dolphins as the personnel director into a successful
franchise before moving to the Superbowl champion Washington
Redskins in 1978. Most recently he was the General Manager for the
San Diego Chargers when they too went to the Super Bowl.
He has remained a generous supporter of the Mustang athletic
program. He and his wife live in the San Diego area.
