A three-year starter and two-time All-California Collegiate Athletic Association point guard during his career at Cal Poly (1971-74), Williams led his senior-year team (1973-74) to the California Collegiate Athletic Association championship and a third-place finish in the NCAA Division II West Regional.

Williams was CCAA Player of the Year in 1974, averaging 14.9 points. He scored 1,092 points as a Mustang. He was MVP of the All-District 6, 7, 8 team in 1974 and made the all-district team as a junior as well.

Williams coached the Cal Poly junior varsity team in the 1974-75 season. He is fifth and ninth in single-season assists, 12th in career scoring and fourth in career assists at Cal Poly.

After his career at Cal Poly, Pinky competed in numerous National AAU tournaments and Summer Pro Leagues. He also plays with former Mustang Mike LaRoche on a 50-and-older basketball team that has won numerous tournaments across the country.

Pinky has been a supervisor with Alameda County Social Services for the past 21 years, assisting needy children in broken homes among other duties. He also has volunteered his services with Special Olympics.

Pinky and his wife, Janet, currently live in Clayton and they have two children.
