2011: Made seven starts among his 17 appearances on the mound as a sophomore, mostly in midweek games but started on the weekend in final three weeks of season, picking up a win and compiling a 2.45 ERA … finished the year with 4-3 record and 3.62 ERA, striking out 52 batters in 64.2 innings … career-high eight strikeouts, including final six batters of game, in 3.1 relief innings for save against Cal State Northridge on April 17 … seven more strikeouts in final game of season May 29 at Cal State Bakersfield, allowing two runs and six hits in seven innings … pitched seven scoreless innings for win against Pacific on May 22, allowing two hits and striking out three … other wins were against Fresno State (two runs, four hits in 5.0 innings), Loyola Marymount (one earned run, five hits in 6.0 innings) and Saint Mary's (3.2 scoreless, hitless innings in relief with five strikeouts) … also allowed one earned run in 5.2 innings against San Francisco … opponents hit .228 … 3.1 strikeouts to walks ratio, best among returning pitchers in 2012 ... 73 fly ball outs and 66 groundouts ... 2-0 with 2.40 ERA in night games and 2-3 with 3.99 ERA in day contests ... played summer ball for Wisconsin Rapids Rafters in Northwoods League.

High School: A 2009 graduate of Monte Vista High School in Danville ... hit .422 as a senior under head coach Bill Diona ... drove in eight runs and hit eight doubles en route to honorable mention All-East Bay Athletic League honors as a center fielder ... also compiled a 2.03 ERA on the mound, pitching 10.1 innings ... helped Mustangs to 17-8 record, second-place finish in the EBAL and a berth in the CIF-North Coast Section Division I playoffs ... as a junior pitched 3.2 innings, striking out four and not allowing a run or a walk ...
