Cal Poly Defeats Pepperdine, 13-7, in Completion of Suspended Game

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- Bradlee Beesley collected four hits while Connor Gurnik, Elijah Greene, Cole Cabrera and Nick DiCarlo each added three as Cal Poly produced a season-high 21-hit offensive attack Tuesday afternoon en route to a 13-7 victory over Pepperdine, concluding the game suspended March 12.

Cal Poly and Pepperdine begin the regularly scheduled game at 6:10 p.m. inside Baggett Stadium.

The game was suspended after 7 1/2 innings March 12 at Eddy D. Field Stadium due to darkness and resumed with Pepperdine batting in the bottom of the eighth at Baggett Stadium.

Noah Taylor drove in three runs with a single and triple while Beesley, Tate Samuelson, Cabrera and DiCarlo all knocked in a pair of runs for the Mustangs, who improved to 23-22 for the season.

Pepperdine (20-21) was paced by Matt Kanfer with three hits and three RBIs. Wyatt Young, Quincy McAfee and Mike Malinchak all added two hits.

The win went to Michael Clark (5-3), who pitched two scoreless innings (the sixth and seventh). Craig Colen secured the final six outs. Michael Mahoney (0-1), who gave up three runs in the seventh inning as Cal Poly snapped a 6-6 tie, suffered the loss.
