Lehman Sparks Cal Poly to Fifth Place in First Round of Hartford Invite

SOUTH KENT, Conn. — Led by senior Thomas Lehman, Cal Poly's men's golf team is fifth among 20 teams competing in the Hartford Hawks Invitational held at Bull's Bridge Golf Club.

Play was suspended midway through the second round due to darkness. Round two is expected to resume on Tuesday morning, followed by the final round of 18. Weather forecast calls for 100 percent chance of rain Tuesday.

Lehman (pictured at right) posted a six-under-par 66 in the first round Monday on the 6,992-yard, par-72 layout, tied for first place with three other golfers.

Four other golfers share fifth place and another trio of golfers posted 68s.

Cal Poly's four-person team total after one round is three-under-par 285. Central Florida leads with a 274 total, followed by Connecticut (275), Rhode Island (281) and Seton Hall (282).

In addition to Lehman's 66, Cal Poly's other scores included a 70 by Dominick Hoover, a 73 by Tanner Podres, a 76 by Will Draper and an 82 by Sage Casaga.
