Cal Poly Starts 13th, Finishes 13th in Warrior Princeville Makai Invite
 
PRINCEVILLE, Hawaii — The Cal Poly men's golf team, tied for 13th place after the first round and in 13th place following Round 2, finished 13th in the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational on Tuesday at the Makai Golf Club at Princeville.
 
Thomas Lehman and Will Draper both carded 71s on the 7,223-yard, par-72 course as Coach Scott Cartwright's Mustangs posted a final-round four-person one-under-par 287 total for an even-par 864 aggregate for 54 holes.
 
Pepperdine led from wire to wire for the team title with a 28-under-par 836 aggregate, two shots ahead of Missouri. Louisville was third at 839 in the 20-team field.
 
Lehman finished in a tie for 31st place with a three-under-par 213 total while Tanner Podres (pictured above) claimed 35th place with a 214 total following a final-round 72.
 
Draper finished tied for 64th place at 219. Other Mustang scorers were Dominic Hoover, also tied for 64th place with a final-round 74 for a 219 total, and Adil Bir Singh, in 103rd place with a 73 and a 233 total.
 
Competing as an individual, Sage Casaga finished in a 97th-place tie after carding a 75 for a 229 total.
 
Blake Elliott of McNeese claimed the individual title with an 187-under-par 198 total after posting rounds of 68, 63 and 67, three shots ahead of runner-up John Murphy of Louisville (71-65-65–201).
 
Joshua McCarthy of Pepperdine was another two shots back at 203.
 
Lehman and Podres were fourth in par-3 scoring at one under par.
 
Cal Poly returns to the golf course and opens its spring season Feb. 11-12 at the UC Irvine Anteater Invitational, to be held at the Big Canyon Country Club in Newport Beach, Calif.
