SECOND-ROUND RESULTS (pdf)
PALM DESERT, Calif. — Cal Poly sophomore Tanner Podres remains in the top 20 heading into the final round of the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate hosted by Wyoming at The Classic Club.
Podres (pictured at right) followed his opening-round 72 with a 74 on Saturday and is tied for 15th place with a two-over-par 146 total on the 7,305-yard, par-72 course.
As a team, Cal Poly dropped three spots into a 16th-place tie with Seattle in the three-day 54-hole tournament. Coach Scott Cartwright's Mustangs carded a four-person 306 Saturday for a 34-over-par 610 total.
Texas Tech continues to lead the 21-team field with a four-under-par 572 aggregate, two shots ahead of Boise State. TCU is another shot back in third place.
In addition to Podres, other Cal Poly scorers include Cade Casaga with a 76 for a 155 total and 77th place, and Sage Casaga with an 81 for a 156 total and 86th place.
Also, Thomas Lehman carded a 79 for a 157 total and 92nd place while Will Draper posted a 77 for a 158 total and 95th place.
Skyler Eubank of Boise State leads after 36 holes with back-to-back 68s for an eight-under-par 136 aggregate, three shots ahead of a trio of golfers — Adam Blomme of Texas Tech, David Ravetto of TCU and Daniel O'Loughlin of Colorado.
Final round will be played Sunday with split tee times off holes 1 and 10 starting at 7 a.m.
