Mustang Diving Team Competes at Bruin Invitational

WESTWOOD— Freshmen Noah McKinley and Kiara Lyle led Cal Poly in each of the three diving events the Mustangs competed in as they traveled to UCLA over the weekend to participate in the Bruin Diving Invitational in Westwood.

On the men's side, McKinley finished highest among Mustangs and 14th overall in the platform dive, scoring 205.20. He placed 15th in the men's 3-Meter competition with a total score of 489.75 over two dives. He also finished 16th in the men's 1-Meter competition, finishing with a combined score of 481.40 over two dives.

On the women's side, Lyle finished 39th out of 51 in the 3-Meter competition, finishing with a score of 205.05. She also finished highest among Mustangs in both the platform and the 1-Meter with scores of 115.65 and 177.80.

The team will next compete Jan. 27 when both the swimming & diving teams travel to Santa Barbara to take on Central Coast rival UC Santa Barbara beginning at 11 a.m.
