Mustangs Break Two More Records at Day Three of MPSF Championships
MONTEREY PARK, Calif. — Junior Zack Allen and sophomore Amelia Feick both broke program records Thursday as the Cal Poly swimming and diving team competed in the third day of the MPSF Championships.

Allen broke the school record in the finals of the 100-yard butterfly by swimming a time of 47.82, nearly a full second faster than the previous record set back in 2015. Allen finished sixth overall in the event.

This is the second school record that Allen has broken at this year's MPSF Championships. He was part of the quartet of Mustangs that broke the school record in the 200-medley relay on Wednesday.

Feick's record setting swim in the 100-breast came in the preliminaries on Friday. She swam a Mustang record time of 1:01.88, breaking a record that had been held since 2009. She finished fourth in the finals of that event.

Elsewhere, senior Tom Linker finished third in the finals of the 400 IM, finishing with a time of 3:54.18 and sophomore Brian Whittington placed fourth in the 100-breast with a time of 54.25.

Through three days of competition the Cal Poly men's team is currently in fifth place and the women's team is in sixth place.

The final day of competition is set for Saturday with the prelims starting at 10 a.m. and the finals at 6 p.m.
