Cal Poly Swimming & Diving Hosting UC San Diego Saturday at 11 A.M.

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — The Cal Poly men's and women's swimming and diving teams returns to action for the first home meet since November Saturday when they host fellow Mountain Pacific Sports Federation member UC San Diego for a dual meet.

The meet is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. from Anderson Aquatics Center. Admission is free to everyone.

The Mustang men are coming off a win over Air Force back on December 19. The women's team is also coming off a win over Air Force and a loss to San Diego State on December 19. Cal Poly won a total of 19 of the 32 combined men's and women's events. Five men's swimmers won multiple events and a total of eight men's swimmers and divers won events. On the women's side, four different Mustang swimmers won events.

So far this season, Cal Poly swimming and diving has broken four school records, three individual and one team records.

The Tritons, who are in their first year competing in the MPSF, are coming off wins in their last two meets by both their men's and women's swimming and diving teams over Wyoming, Incarnate Word, San Jose State, CSU Bakersfield, Loyola Marymount and Cal State East Bay.

Before their meeting with Cal Poly, UC San Diego will compete against both UCLA and UC Santa Barbara Friday in Los Angeles.

Following Saturday's meet, the Mustang diving teams will compete at the UCLA Diving Invitational January 18-20 in Westwood.
