SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Former Cal Poly swimmer and swim coach Traci Granger set a new U.S. Masters Swimming and FINA world record Sunday in the women's 60-64 age group in the 50-meter butterfly with a time of 31.11.
Granger set the record at the United States Masters Swimming Summer Nationals held last weekend in Mission Viejo, Calif.
She swam at Cal Poly from 1978-80 and was a coach for the swim team from 1983-84. During her time as a Mustang, Granger (then Serpa) helped set program records in both the 200 medley relay and 400 medley relay.
This is not the first time Granger has set USMS world and national records. She set her first in 2004 and has also done so in 2007, 2013 and 2014.
She is currently a professor at El Camino College in Torrance, Calif.
