Cal Poly Seventh in Uncompleted Second Round of Bruin-Wave Invite

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- Cal Poly was in seventh place among 15 teams competing in the Bruin-Wave Invitational when second-round play was suspended due to darkness with 12 players still on the San Luis Obispo Country Club golf course.

Oregon leads at 16 over par with UCLA and Stanford tied for second place at 23 over par. Northwestern and Arizona State share fourth place at 25 over par.

Coach Sofie Aagaard's Mustangs are at 32 over par with three players still on the course.

Elizabeth Scholtes (pictured at right) is tied for fifth place at four over par with six holes to play while Vanessa Wang is tied for 20th place at seven over par with three holes remaining.

Also competing for Cal Poly were Caroline Cantlay, tied for 29th place at nine over par with three holes remaining; Mallory Muehlbauer, tied for 50th place at 13 over par with rounds of 79 and 78; and Sienna Scibird, also tied for 50th place with rounds of 80 and 77.

Kathleen Scavo of Oregon leads the individual standings at even par after carding a 73 in the morning and completing 15 holes in the second round.

Sarah Rhee of Washington and Petra Salko of Oregon share second place with two-over-par 146 totals.

The dozen players who need to complete their second rounds will be on the course Tuesday at 7 a.m., followed by the final round. Admission is free.
