CORVALLIS, Oregon — Oregon State won the first five bouts for a 19-0 advantage and coasted to a 25-10 victory over Cal Poly in a Pac-12 Conference dual wrestling meet Friday afternoon inside Gill Coliseum.
The Beavers, however, claimed the final two bouts to improve their records to 4-6 for the season and 3-1 in Pac-12 matches. Cal Poly fell to 6-9 and 1-3.
Wilson scored a takedown in the opening period against Weston Dobler and never looked back, adding an escape and takedown in the second period and a takedown, four-point near fall and riding time in the final period for his second major of the year.
Wilson is 10-12 for the season.
Johnson was a 5-3 winner over Bob Coleman at 174 pounds, scoring a first-period takedown and snapping a 2-2 tie with an escape and takedown in the third period for the win. Johnson now sports a 6-7 record.
At 184, Woods improved his record to 12-5 with a 4-1 decision over Seth McLeod. Woods secured a takedown in the first period and an escape in the second period for a 3-0 lead and garnered enough riding time in the last period for another point and the win.
Oregon State's seven victories included four major decisions and three decisions.
Cal Poly wraps up the dual meet portion of its 2016-17 schedule Sunday at Boise State.
Stanford will host the Pac-12 Championship on Sunday, Feb. 26, with the NCAA Division I National Championship slated for March 16-18 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
