Mustang Women's Tennis Completes Action at ITA Regional Championships

PALO ALTO, Calif. – The Cal Poly women's tennis program's run at the Stanford-hosted ITA Northwest Regional Championships came to an end on Sunday morning as junior Alexa Lee and sophomore Jennifer Cornea were eliminated from doubles title contention at the round of 16 with an 8-0 loss against the second-seeded pairing of California's Jana Juricova and Zsofia Susanyi.

Lee (above) and Cornea, individually eliminated from singles title contention on Friday, advanced as one of the final 16 teams after downing Sacramento State's Katharina Knoebl and Sophie Lohscheidt on Friday, 8-3, and San Jose State's Sandra L. Florea and Erica Medlin on Sunday, 8-0.

In a mixed doubles match also played on Sunday, Mustang sophomore Ane McPike teamed with Pacific's Gergana Boncheva, but dropped an 8-4 decision against the Saint Mary's duo of Catherine Leduc and Elizabeth Searl.
