Cal Poly Women’s Tennis Completes Fall Campaign at Bulldog Classic

FRESNO – Four Mustangs were in action Sunday morning at the Fresno State-hosted Bulldog Classic as the Cal Poly women's tennis program closed its 2014 fall schedule.

In singles action and in the B Flight, junior Danè Joubert saw her tournament run come to a close in the quarterfinal stage with a 6-2, 6-4 defeat to Fresno State's Sofya Malysheva.

In the C Flight, freshman Abby Bacharach was also eliminated at the quarterfinal hurdle with a 6-3, 6-2 loss to Oregon's Katie Hueffner.

In C Flight consolation play, junior Anna Klavins – after reaching the semifinal phase – dropped a 6-0, 6-0 matchup versus Portland State's Ayaka Terakawa.

In doubles action and in the A Flight consolation semifinal round, junior Bryn Bacharach and Joubert combined, but were doubled up by Fresno State's Aishwarya Agrawal and Tanya Murtagh, 8-4.

Cal Poly opens its 2014 spring schedule at the Jan. 16-18 California Winter Invitational in Berkeley, Calif.
