Cal Poly Women’s Tennis Competes in Cal Winter Invitational

BERKELEY— In its final tune up before dual meets begin, the Cal Poly women's tennis team competed over the weekend at the Cal Winter Invite in Berkeley.

In the three day round robin style format featuring Cal, Fresno State and Saint Mary's, seven Mustangs picked up wins in singles competition, including freshmen Grace Olyphant and MacKenzie Worsnop. Cal Poly picked up three wins over Fresno State, three over Saint Mary's and one over Cal.

In doubles competition, Cal Poly finished with three wins over the weekend. The team of senior Molly Reed and sophomore Seriana Saltzen defeated Fresno State's Abbey Watanabe and Katrna Stloukalova 6-2. Junior Caroline Williams and Olyphant beat Cal's Alexis Nelson and Jasie Dunk 6-3 and the team of Worsnop and sophomore Susanne Boyden defeated Saint Mary's Aubane Ville and Kareena Manji 6-2.

The Mustangs next play its first dual meet of the season Jan. 28 on the road as they travel to Los Angeles to take on Loyala Marymount at 11 a.m.
