SAN DIEGO — Playing its second match in as many days on the road, the Cal Poly women's tennis team fell at San Diego State Sunday, wrapping up its weekend road trip with a 1-1 record.

The Aztecs (5-1) won the doubles point after victories on courts 1 and 2. At the time doubles ended, The Mustangs' (1-3) third pairing of junior Susanne Boyden and sophomore Grace Olyphant were leading in their match 5-4.

Cal Poly fought hard in singles, but wins by San Diego State at the No. 2, 5, and 6 positions ended the match 4-0.

The Mustangs end their road trip to southern California with a 1-1 record after getting their first win Saturday over future Big West opponent UC San Diego.

Cal Poly will play its first home match of the season Saturday, February 16 at 10 a.m. from Mustang Tennis Complex against Santa Clara.
