Mustangs Head to St. Louis for Marcia E. Hamilton Classic

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif., -- This week the Cal Poly volleyball team will be on the road for a second straight week to participate in the Marcia E. Hamilton Classic in St. Louis, Missouri to take on No. 22 Western Kentucky, Arkansas State and Saint Louis. 

The Mustangs are going into this weekend's tournament 2-1 on the season, as they beat Rice 3-1, Utah Valley 3-0 and took a loss to No. 13 BYU 3-0 in their season opener in Provo, Utah. 

Junior Taylor Nelson proved to be the team's leader in assists, as she compiled 120 over three matches. 

Sophomore Adlee Van Winden leads the team in kills, as she tallied up 40 over the weekend while junior Raeann Greisen had 30 and sophomore Alexis Clewis had 29. 

Cal Poly will take on No. 22 Western Kentucky Friday Sept. 2, at 2:30 p.m. and then get back on the court Saturday, Sept. 3 to take on Arkansas State at 8 a.m. and Saint Louis at 5 p.m.  

This will be the first time in program history that the Mustangs have gone up against these teams.
