SAN LUIS OBISPO – The Cal Poly volleyball team will host UC Irvine in its second home match of the season this Thursday at Mott Athletics Center.
The Mustangs are 8-6 overall and 1-3 in conference play after losing 3-0 to Long Beach State on Friday and beating CSUN 3-2 on Saturday.
Sophomore Adlee Van Winden set her career high in kills against CSUN with 24, adding to her overall 190 this season.
Junior Taylor Nelson also set a career high this past weekend, as she had 65 assists against CSUN, adding to her season total of 619 and her career total of 2,551.
Senior Taylor Gruenewald has proven to be the team's biggest asset in blocks, as she has tallied a total of 40 this season while also putting up 131 kills.
Sophomore Katherine Brouker produced 21 digs against CSUN on Saturday, giving her 217 on the season, making her the only Mustang to have over 200 digs this season.
The Mustangs are currently sporting an overall .232 attack percentage this season.
Cal Poly has had a long history with UC Irvine, as the teams first met in 1979 and have played 60 matches against each other. The Mustangs won their two last matches against Irvine in 2015 and lead the Anteaters 42-18.
The Mustangs will take the court Thursday Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. at Mott Athletics Center.
