SAN LUIS OBISPO – The Cal Poly volleyball team swept UC Irvine 3-0 in its match Thursday night at Mott Athletics Center.
The Mustangs beat the Anteaters 25-12, 25-13, 25-23, advancing to 9-6 on the season and 2-2 in conference play.
Greisen put up the most kills in set two, with seven and had an overall attack percentage of .700 while Van Winden had the most kills in set three with eight.
The Mustangs had an overall attack percentage of .422, compared to UCI's .137.
Junior Taylor Nelson led the team in assists with 41, while also having two blocks and eight digs.
The Mustangs had a total of five blocks, three of them coming from senior Taylor Gruenewald. She also boasted five kills and had an overall .500 attack percentage.
The Mustangs will be back on the court this Saturday Oct. 8, to take on UCSB in Santa Barbara. Their next home match is Oct. 21 against CSUN.
