FULLERTON— The Cal Poly volleyball team swept Cal State Fullerton Saturday (25-18, 25-17, 25-9) to close out the regular season and make history by going undefeated in conference play for the first time in program history and the 11th time in Big West history. The last Big West team to accomplish that was Hawai'i in 2015.

It is the No. 22 Mustangs' 21st win in a row to give them an overall record of 26-2 and a perfect 16-0 in the Big West. They officially clinched the Big West title outright Friday with a win against UC Riverside.

Cal Poly got out of the gate quick in the second set, getting out to a 6-2 lead. Up 12-10, the Mustangs went on a 6-1 run to go up 18-11. They would not look back from there, going on to win the set 25-17. Torrey Van Winden had 14 of her 16 kills in the first two sets.

Cal Poly would separate themselves in the third set, scoring the first five points and getting out to a 10-3 lead. At one point they would hold a 23-8 lead and would go on to win the set 25-9, their largest margin of victory in a set this season.

"I'm proud of the team for a perfect conference season," head coach Sam Crosson said. "It's a great accomplishment for them and the program and shows all the hard work they have put in."

With the regular season over, the Mustangs now wait to see who and where they will play in the NCAA Tournament. The selection show is scheduled for Sunday, November 26 at 6 p.m. PST on ESPNU. There will be a watch party from 5:30-7 p.m. at Milestone Tavern in San Luis Obispo that all fans are invited to attend.

"We're excited to see where we will be and who we will play in the NCAA Tournament and hope to see as many people as possible at our selection show watch party," Crosson said.
