  • Men’s Cross Country Finish 28th at NCAA Championships

    The Cal Poly men’s cross country team finished 28th at the NCAA Championship on Monday in Terre Haute, IN. The Cal Poly women finished 105th and 146th in the women’s race. The 2011 Championships were hosted by Indiana State University.

  • Men’s Cross Country Finishes 3rd at NCAA West Regional

    The Cal Poly men’s cross country team entered Satuday’s NCAA West Regional as the fifth seeded team and came home third, advancing its chances for an at-large bid to the championships Nov. 21. The women’s team entered the race seeded 14th and finished in ninth.
  • Cross Country Nabs Three Big West Conference Awards

    Cal Poly received three of the Big West Conference six cross country awards it was announced today by the conference office. Head coach Mark Conover was named the Big West Men’s Coach of the Year while Mitch Moriarty and Meghan Breadmore garnered freshman of the year honors.

    Cal Poly men’s cross country team ran away with the 2011 Big West Men's Cross Country Championship placing seven runners in the top 14 spots for 36 points en route to its 11th team title in the past 14 seasons.
  • Cross Country Heads to Big West Championships

    The Cal Poly cross country teams will be heading UC Riverside for the Big West Championships on Saturday. The men’s team, winners of 10 Big West crowns, will be led by senior Daniel Gonia who posted his fastest time of the season (23:48) at the Santa Clara Invitational on Oct. 15. Gonia has posted the third fastest time in conference this season on an 8k course.

    The Cal Poly cross country teams competed at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational with the men’s team finished second while the women’s team finished fifth.
  • Mustangs Sweep Weekly Honors

    The men’s and women’s Cal Poly cross country teams put up excellent showings at their respective events, with the help of junior transfer David Cardona senior Leanne Fogg. For their efforts, Cardona was named Big West Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week and Fogg was tabbed Big West Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week.
  • Mustangs Finish a Solid 7th at Roy Griak Invitational

    The Cal Poly men’s cross country team finished a solid seventh at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational held at the Les Bolstad Golf Course on the campus of the University of Minnesota. The Mustangs seventh place finish was paced by junior transfer David Cardona with his ninth place finish in a time of 24:19. Cardona is a transfer from El Camino College and is in his first season of competition at Cal Poly.
  • Women Finish Third at Stanford Invitational

    The Cal Poly women’s cross country team led by Leanne Fogg finished third on Saturday at the Stanford Invitational with 139 points. Cal Poly trailed host Stanford in first place with 24 points and UC Davis in second with 138 points.
  • Cal Poly Women Dominate at UC Irvine Invitational

    The Cal Poly women’s cross country team dominated the UC Irvine Invitational on Saturday at the Anteater Recreation Center Course. The Mustangs placed all five scoring runners in the top 15 and four in the top eight in winning with 38 total points.

    In the 2011 season opener for both the men’s and women’s cross country teams, Cal Poly swept both dual meets with the men winning 22-35 and the women winning 25-30 over UC Santa Barbara at the Lagoon Open on Saturday.
