  • Hollander, Mustangs Earn All-Academic Honors

    The Cal Poly women's cross country team and Mustang freshman Laura Hollander earned All-Academic Status from the U.S. Track & Field And Cross Country Coaches Association on Monday.
  • Reid 6th at 2013 NACAC Cross Country Championships

    Team USA picked up two individual titles from Craig Forys and Erin Finn, while the senior men’s team won the team title at the NACAC Cross Country Championships at the Manchester Golf Club in Mandeville in Jamaica on Saturday.
  • Phillip Reid to Represent USA at NACAC

    Former Cal Poly standout Phillip Reid is set to represent the United States at the North America, Central America and Caribbean Cross Country Championship this weekend in Jamaica. The race will be held at the Manchester Golf Club in Mandeville on Saturday.
  • Cal Poly’s Laura Hollander Earns All-American Status

    Following an impressive ninth-place finish at the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championship on Saturday, Cal Poly's Laura Hollander was named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-America team. The top 40 individuals from both men’s and women’s races earn All-America plaudits from the USTFCCCA.
  • Laura Hollander 9th at NCAA Cross Country Championship

    Becoming only the third Cal Poly female to advance to the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championship since Cal Poly made the move to Division I in 1994, Laura Hollander, finished 9th with a time of 19:45. Betsy Saina covered the 6k E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park course in Louisville with a winning time of 19:27.

  • Hollander Second at NCAA West Regional, Men Finish Eighth

    Cal Poly freshman Laura Hollander was edged out of first place at the NCAA West Regional Championship at the Jefferson Park Golf Course in Seattle to finish second with a time of 19:22. The women’s team placed 11th. The Cal Poly men’s team placed eighth, paced by senior David Cardona in 17th.
  • Cal Poly Heads to NCAA West Regional Cross Country Meet

    The Cal Poly men’s and women’s cross country teams are off to the NCAA West Regional on Friday in Seattle, Washington. The men’s 10k course and the women’s 6k will be held at the Jefferson Golf Course in Seattle. The women’s race will start at 12 pm followed by the men’s race at 1:15 pm.

    Freshman Laura Hollander continued her storied season in winning the Big West Conference Cross Country Championship wire to wire in record time while the men’s team finished first, second and third led by junior Chris Frias to the team’s second consecutive and 12th championship overall.
  • Cal Poly Prepares for Big West Cross Country Championships

    For the fifth consecutive year, the Big West Cross Country Championship takes place at the UC Riverside Ag/Ops Course on the campus of UC Riverside. This year’s event is slated for Saturday, Oct. 27 with the women’s 6,000 meters taking place at 8:45 a.m. and the men’s 8K at 9:30 a.m.

  • Mustangs Compete at Cal Poly Cross Country Invitational

    Competing as a split squad, a host of Mustangs competed in the Cal Poly Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at the Fairbanks Cross Country Course. The women’s race was won by Michelle Read, competing unattached, covering the five kilometer course in a time of 18:57 while Adam Lucero won the men’s 8k race in a time of 27:11.
  • Laura Hollander Wins Loaded Wisconsin Adidas Invitational

    True Freshman Laura Hollander won the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational on Friday, covering the 6 kilometer course in a record setting 19:33. The freshman led the Mustangs to a 32nd place finish while the men’s team placed 30th led by senior David Cardona’s 68th place finish.
  • Cal Poly Travels to Fourth-Annual Wisconsin Adidas Invitational

    Both the Cal Poly men’s and women’s teams will be heading to Wisconsin for the Fourth-Annual Wisconsin Adidas Invitational on Friday. The race will be held on the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course with the men covering an 8k race and the women, 6k.The women’s race will begin at 9 am Pacific Time while the men’s will start at 9:40.
  • Mustangs Compete at Stanford Invitational

    Cal Poly cross country teams competed at the Stanford Invitational on Saturday running split squads. The men’s team, led by David Cardona, finished 18th while the women’s team, led by Alex Ciaraglia, finished 15th. Each Cal Poly team competed with just five runners.
  • Laura Hollander Wins Pac 12 Preview; Men’s Team Finishes Fourth

    True freshman Laura Hollander backed up her record setting pace at the Lagoon Open in Santa Barbara when she finished first at the Pac 12 Preview in a time of 17:02 in Santa Clarita on Friday. The men’s team was fourth led by Chris Frias in eighth place.

    The Cal Poly men’s and women’s cross country teams swept the UC Santa Barbara Lagoon Open on Saturday with the men’s team winning in dominate fashion, 23-45, and the women’s team winning a close battle, 29-33. The meet was the season opener for both teams.
