Boyal, Nelson Named Cal Poly’s 2017-18 Athletes of the Year Cal Poly men’s cross country and track and field standout Swarnjit Boyal, who advanced to the NCAA Championships in both sports this year, and Taylor Nelson, a volleyball star both indoors and on the beach, have been selected as Cal Poly’s male and female athletes of the year for the 2017-18 academic year.
