
Austin Liu was tied for 24th place when play was halted due to darkness late in the second round of the Wyoming Cowboy Classic on Monday.

CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Austin Liu of Cal Poly carded rounds of 70 and 72 and is tied for 24th place in the second round of play in the Wyoming Cowboy Classic, which was suspended due to darkness Monday at the Whirlwind Golf Club's Cattail Course.
On the 7,334-yard par-72 course, Liu recorded two birdies and 16 pars in his morning round and was tied for eighth place at five under par with an eagle and a birdie before finishing his second round with three straight bogeys. Liu eagled the 450-yard, par-4 18th hole.
A total of 44 golfers had one or two holes remaining to play when the second round was halted. They will return Tuesday at 7 a.m. to complete the round, followed immediately by the final round.
When play was stopped, Riley Lewis and Cameron Meeks, both of Loyola Marymount, shared the lead at nine under par with one hole remaining for both golfers. Steve Sugimoto of San Diego State and Victor Bjorlow of Colorado shared third place at eight under par.
San Diego State held a 14-stroke advantage over Colorado when play was halted. Both teams still had golfers on the course. Cal Poly is in 22nd place with back-to-back 303 rounds.
In addition to Liu, Cal Poly's other scoring golfers were Tanner Podres with a 76 and 78 for a 103rd-place tie, Will Draper with a 78 and 77 for 107th place, Joey Zambri with an 80 and 76 for 110th place and Adil Bir Singh with a 79 and 78 for 112th place.
