CARMEL VALLEY, Calif. – Five of the Cal Poly men’s golf program’s entries at The Preserve Golf Club Collegiate improved their leaderboard standing during Tuesday’s final round as the Mustangs closed their final fall tournament in 11th position.
At the par-72, 7,138-yard Preserve Golf Club, sophomore Nolan Kuszyk was Cal Poly’s top finisher in 29th spot with a three-round, one-under 215 (70-66-79). Junior Louis Pilod (70-70-76) finished a shot behind in 31st.
Freshman Rafael Bobo-Lloret climbed four spots Tuesday to secure a share of 39th with a three-over 219 (72-74-73).
Both senior Sean Lehman and junior Leo Metzger were Cal Poly’s top movers Tuesday, each improving 13 positions with even-par 72s. Competing as an independent, Lehman – carding five birdies Tuesday – was 42nd with a four-over 220 (71-77-72). Metzger (77-72-72), collecting four birdies, was a shot back in 46th.
Freshman Zihao Wang (74-73-76) fell seven spots to 53rd alongside graduate player Kyle Dougherty (79-73-71), who enjoyed four birdies on Tuesday.
As a team, Cal Poly dropped three spots on the leaderboard during the final round but finished ahead of 48th-ranked California.
No. 25 BYU captured the team title with a 29-under 835. Oregon’s Sebastian Desoisa was the 2025 individual medalist with a 17-under 199.
Following a winter hiatus, Cal Poly opens the spring portion of the 2025-26 schedule at College of Charleston’s Battle at Briar’s Creek, scheduled for Feb. 2-3 in Johns Island, S.C.
