Men's Tennis Coach Steps Down

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Cal Poly men's tennis coach Justin McGrath announced today that he has stepped aside from his position after five years with the Mustang program to pursue other tennis coaching opportunities.

"I've enjoyed my time at Cal Poly," said McGrath. "But now I want to pursue  some other challenges. I wish the Mustangs all the best."

McGrath added, "I would like to thank the past and current administration for the opportunity to coach at Cal Poly, the community for their tremendous amount of support, and the players for allowing me to coach them."

McGrath led the Mustangs to their first NCAA Division I Tennis Championship appearance this past season with a 14-7 record and a pair of Big West Conference regular season titles.

"Justin's teams have done well, and we're proud of last year's NCAA appearance," said Cal Poly Director of Athletics Don Oberhelman. "We thank Justin for his efforts and wish him well."

Oberhelman added that a national search to fill the position will begin immediately.
