INDIAN WELLS, Calif. – Cal Poly will open the Big West Conference Men's Tennis Championship as the No. 2 seed, playing seventh-seeded UC Riverside at 8 a.m. Thursday at Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
The winner of the Cal Poly match will then take on either No. 3 seed Pacific or No. 6 UC Davis at 3 p.m. Friday in the tournament semifinals.
The 65th-ranked Mustangs (13-8, 5-1) defeated UC Santa Barbara 5-2 this past weekend to earn a share of the Big West regular-season title, the program's fourth.
Cal Poly's Andre Dome (21-4 overall, 19-2 in duals) enters the postseason ranked No. 25 nationally in singles by the ITA. At No. 2 singles, Marco Comuzzo (23-10 overall, 14-7 in duals) was 10-6 during the regular season. Jordan Bridge went 6-4 at No. 3 singles.
Dome and Bridge were 12-2 this year at No. 1 doubles, while Comuzzo (right) teamed with Matt Thomson to go 10-1 at No. 2 doubles.
