SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The Cal Poly men's tennis 2013-14 recruits have landed the Mustang program as the fifth ranked class out of all the mid-majors according to TennisRecruiting.net.
The mid-major conferences for tennis include programs from the America East, American Athletic, Atlantic 10, Atlantic Sun, Big East, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, CAA, C-USA, Great West, Horizon, MAAC, MAC, MEAC, Missouri Valley, Mountain West, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, SoCon, Southland, SWAC, Summit, Sun Belt, WCC, and WAC conferences.
Entering his third season, head coach Nick Carless' second recruiting class comprised of Garrett Auproux (ranked as a blue chip recruit) and Benjamin Donovan (ranked a 5-star recruit).
Auproux, a 2013 graduate of John Burroughs High School in Burbank, has posted a 48-20 overall record this season with an 11-4 mark in matches against 5-star players and an 18-2 record against 4-star recruits.
He is ranked 39th in the nation and 13th in California.
Donovan, from the Advantage Tennis Academy in Germantown, Tennessee, boasts a national ranking of 44 and is the fourth-ranked player in Tennessee.
He is 36-22 overall with a 14-11 record against 5-star recruits and 11-1 against 4-star recruits.
South Florida, Pepperdine, North Florida, Boise State were ranked a head of the Mustangs while Denver, George Washington, Monmouth, Tulane and Richmond round out the top 10.
