Cal Poly Men in Eighth Place at PAC-12 Championship

Day two of the PAC-12 Swimming Championships continued Thursday at East Los Angeles College in Monterey Park.  The Cal Poly men competed in four events.

The Mustangs added 22 points to their total score after placing eighth in the 200 yard freestyle relay.  Freshman Mackey Hopen (pictured at right,) freshman Christian Renfro, sophomore Drew Casier and junior Omar Dwidar finished the race with a time of 1:23.78.

Cal Poly did not advance to the finals in the 500 freestyle, 50 freestyle or the 200 individual medley.

The Mustangs now have a total of 67 points in the competition and remain in eighth place.

There are six events on Friday.  The Championships continue through March 3, 2012.  The NCAA Swimming Championships will be March 15-17, 2012 in Auburn, AL.
