Cal Poly Men Still in Eighth Place at PAC-12 Championship

The PAC-12 Championships continued at East Los Angeles College as the Cal Poly men looked to add more points in the competition.   

Two Cal Poly swimmers advanced to the finals in the 400 yard individual medley.  Sophomore Konrad Antoniuk posted a final time of 3:58.38 finishing in 19th place.  Freshman Carter Price finished at 4:04.76 in 24th place.

Sophomore Joseph Wasko advanced to the finals in the 100 yard butterfly finishing in 24th place overall with his time of 50.60.

Cal Poly scored 22 points with their eighth place finish in the 400 yard medley relay.  Sophomore Joseph Wasko, freshman Jimmy Deiparine, freshman Jesse McWhirk and freshman Christian Renfro made up the team.

Freshman Mackey Hopen (pictured at right) made it to the finals in the 100 breaststroke.  He finished at 56.22 in 16th place and added a point to the team total.

Freshman Kyle Lindsay swam in the 100 yard backstroke finals.  His finish time was 54.05 and put him in 24th place.

Cal Poly finished the day in eighth place with 94 points.

The Championships continue through March 3, 2012.  The NCAA Swimming Championships will be March 15-17, 2012 in Auburn, AL.
