DES MOINES, Iowa --  Senior Jasmine Pickett finished seventh at the NCAA Track and Field Championships on Friday at Drake Stadium in De Moines in the triple jump. The lone Mustang to qualify for the championships recorded a career-best of 43-feet, 6.50 inches to earn the honor.

Pickett, a two-time NCAA Championship participant, advanced to the championship with a leap of 41-feet, 10 inches in Eugene, OR, in the first round of the NCAA's.

The Urbana, Ohio native fouled on her first attempt, but hit 42-feet, 1.50 inches on her second, placing her ninth.  She hit her career-best on her third attempt to advance to the finals.

That mark would stand as she jumped 42-feet, 3.25 inches in the fourth round, fouled in the fifth and jumped 42-feet, 11.75 inches in her final attempt.

Her pervious best was 43-feet, 5.24 inches set during the 2009 season.

Pickett jumped 42 feet, 9.75 inches in finishing ninth in her first trip to the NCAA Championships in 2009.

Clemson's Patricia Mamona won the triple jump with a leap of 46-feet, 1.25 inches, just missing the NCAA Championship meet record of 46-feet, 2-inches, set by Candice Baucham of UCLA in 2005.
