Cal Poly Women Golfers Eighth After Two Rounds in Monterey Bay Invite
MONTEREY, Calif. – Taylor Yoshitake of Cal Poly carded a second-round 75 Monday and is tied for eighth place with one more round to play in the Monterey Bay Invitational women's golf tournament hosted by Misouri State at the Del Monte Golf Club.
Yoshitake will take a 155 total into the third and final round Tuesday morning on the 6,018-yard, par-72 course.
Asia Adell (pictured at right) is tied for 14th place with a 77 Monday and a 158 total.
As a team, coach Scott Cartwright's Mustangs are eighth among 14 schools with a four-person 36-hole 644 total, following Sunday's 326 with a 318 total.
Missouri State leads with a 610 total, followed by Wichita State at 628 and Winthrop and Columbia, both at 630.
Individual leader after 36 holes is Chiara Citterio of Missouri State, competing as an individual, with a 76 and 72 for a 148 total, followed by Jennifer Dilger of Winthrop at 78-71—149 and Julia Roth of Central Arkansas at 75-75—150.
Other Cal Poly scores include an 81 by Kirsten Locke for a 165 total, tied for 41st place; an 85 by Caitlin Farley for a 166 total, tied for 43rd place; and an 87 by Alex Phillips for a 171 total, tied for 58th place.
