SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The Cal Poly women's soccer team played to a draw (0-0) in a exhibition soccer game against Westmont College on Thursday at Alex G. Spanos Stadium despite outshooting the Warriors 18-5. The teams concluded play after regulation.
The Mustangs will host USC in its second exhibition of the year on Saturday at 1 pm. Admission will be free to the game at Alex G. Spanos Stadium.
Head coach Alex Crozier, entering his 21st season at the helm of the Mustangs, used 20 players including three goalies in the game.
Freshman Elise Krieghoff came off the bench to fire off a team-high five shots with two on goal while starter Cristina Farrington had four shots with three on goal. A total of nine different Mustangs attempted shots as the line up was adjusted throughout the game.
Sophomore Heather Rouhier started in goal for the Mustangs and did not face a shot in the first period as the team defense shutdown the Warrior attack.
Westmont managed just five shots in the game with three on goal while a pair of goalies, Lindsey Smith and Lauren Dorr, combined for eight saves.
