SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Junior All-American Jennifer Keddy recorded a career-high 21 kills in leading the Cal Poly volleyball team to a three-set sweep over Pacific on Saturday in Mott Gym in front of 1,012 fans. Set scores went 25-17, 25-21 and 25-22.
With the win the Mustangs even their Big West Conference record at 2-2 and improve to 7-10 overall while Pacific falls to 1-3 in conference matches and 10-7 overall.
Keddy's career-high came on 37 swings with just one hitting error (.541) while sophomore teammate, Kristina Graven, added 14 kills on 27 swings with just one error (.481).
Pacific was led by Jennifer Sanders with 11 kills while three other players recorded 10 kills each.
Cal Poly as a team hit a season-high .421, recording 53 kills on 114 swings with only five errors. Pacific hit .270 as a team.
Lauren Law recorded 18 of Cal Poly's 48 digs while the Tigers tallied 49.
Sophomore Kate Walters was credited with 47 assists and eight digs.
Cal Poly outblocked Pacific 7-1 with Keddy getting credit for four assisted and Smith recording three assisted and one solo.
Keddy's night started with her recording seven kills in the first set on eight swings. In the second, she tallied 10 kills alone while adding four in the third.
For the Mustangs the win was their second in a row and their third win against no defeats in Mott Gym.
Cal Poly will return to the court on Oct. 7th when the team travels to UC Irvine for a Big West Conference match.
