
Adil Bir Singh matched his career-best round with a 72 in the El Macero Classic on Friday at the El Macero Country Club.
Cal Poly Finishes 10th in El Macero Classic Men's Golf Tournament

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Adil Bir Singh carded a final-round par 72, matching his career-best round, for the Cal Poly men's golf team at the El Macero Classic on Friday, jumping 12 spots up the leaderboard.
Bir Singh earned four birdies, a pair of bogeys and a double-bogey, finishing with a three-round 226 and a tie for 61st place on the 7,138-yard, par-72 El Macero COuntry Clb course.
Bir Singh's other 72 was in the UC Santa Barbara Collegiate in April 2019.
Cal Poly finished 10th in the 14-team tournament with a nine-over-par 873 total following a four-person final-round 294. Fresno State edged Long Beach State by one stroke, 857-858, for the team title and Loyola Marymount was three strokes further back (861) for third place.
Thomas Hutchison of UC Davis claimed the individual title with rounds of 69, 68 and 71 for an eight-under-par 208 total, one shot ahead of Trevor McNary of Cal State Fullerton (69-72-68--209). Four other golfers shared third place with 210 totals.
In addition to Bir Singh, Cal Poly's other scores were a 73 by Nicholas Mok for a 215 total and 19th place, a 75 by Austin Liu for a 218 total and 25th place, a 74 by Will Draper for a 222 total and 44th place and a 75 by Baron Szeto for a 223 total and 49th place.
Competing as an individual, Parker Mapes carded an 82 for a 235 total and 81st place.
Mok finished second with his 40 pars over 54 holes.
Cal Poly will compete in the Big West Conference Championships on May 1-3 at the La Quinta Country Club.
